Job Summary

This is an Accounting role that will focus on month end reporting and variance commentary for movements in fixed assets, project and inventory. It will also involve statutory reporting under local GAAP EMEA legal entities including financial statements preparation. In addition, the position will involve preparation and compliance of balance sheet reconciliations.

Job Description

Monthly accounting & reporting responsibilities for EMEA Fixed Assets and Inventory

Projects (Work In Progress) and Inventory analysis and review in conjunction with FP&A and Operations teams

Statutory reporting under local GAAP (IFRS) for EMEA legal entities incl financial statements prep

Monthly entries and variance commentary for movements in Operating Expense

Preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations using Blackline

Working with North American accounting team counter-parts on day to day tasks/ reporting/ any issues

Performing periodic controls

Close working with EMEA tax team on tax comps and VAT returns

Assisting the Lead Accountant, Manager & EMEA Controller with ad-hoc projects and tasks where required

Qualifications

The required candidate for this role would preferably have worked in a multinational company or accountancy practice and have strong analytical skills. The candidate should have good Microsoft Office skills and ability to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team. The job requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Part-Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA or qualified AAT and working towards next qualification

Microsoft Office – intermediate-advanced Excel – the successful candidate must be confident with organizing and analysing large data sets

Experience of SAP highly desirable but not essential

Experience of fixed assets accounting or area of similar complexity would be an advantage

Candidate should have strong attention to detail and analytical skills, be confident with excel and handling large volumes of data - self-motivated with a "hands-on" approach to getting things done.

The ability to organize tasks effectively, be logical and to plan and prioritise are also important alongside the desire to seek continuous process improvement.

Strong Excel skills are required. Must be able to work with filters and pivot tables. Experience with VBA for Excel is preferable. Experience using Oracle and Hyperion Essbase or equivalent system. Experience testing software code changes as they relate to accounting processes is a plus. Strong problem-solving skills and strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
